Kathleen Henderson
Let’s start with our wonderful Director Kate Henderson who also wrote the play and pulled the cast together.
Kate said, “I’ve been writing plays and sketches since I was a young quine and found the best way to get a cast together is to twist a few arms! No longer a young quine but I’m still writing and twisting arms!”

Colin Henderson
Born in Rothes. Raised on music. Colin Henderson is the musical heartbeat of The Grants of Glen Grant.
He has composed every original song in the production and brings the score to life on flute during the performance. A multi-instrumentalist, composer, and musical director, he also happens to be the husband of our show’s director—making this a real family affair.

Myrtle Scott
Live music runs through every scene of The Grants of Glen Grant—and for one special moment, Myrtle Scott joins us on stage to perform a true Speyside gem: Scott Skinner’s ‘Glen Grant’, a traditional tune composed in honour of the distillery at the heart of our story.
Myrtle is an accomplished award winning fiddler, the oldest member of our cast but always the first to party and last to bed!

Matthew Hamilton
Meet Matthew Hamilton, the powerhouse voice and commanding presence at the heart of The Grants of Glen Grant.
Matthew plays Major James Grant and his grandson Major Douglas Mackessack. 
A classically trained opera singer and accomplished actor, Matthew is currently on postgraduate study in Manchester.
But this summer – he’s  taking centre stage right here in Edinburgh. 

Kitchy Whyte, Nikki Henderson and Sharon Hurford
Every great story needs glamour, gossip, and a little theatrical sparkle—and these three bring it in spades.
Meet our high-society trio, played by Kitchy Whyte, Nikki Henderson and Sharon Hurford—seasoned performers who add sass, wit, and elegance to every scene they grace.
One is the daughter of our director and musical director, another is the mother of our youngest cast member – and all three say they had their arms twisted by the Director to take part!

Derek Trim and Angus Dixon
Here are two gentlemen who play the landed gentry friends of Major Grant—and who just happen to be latter-day members of the local landed gentry themselves. Meet Derek Trim and Angus Dixon. 
Bringing a quiet sophistication and wonderfully dry humour to their roles, they embody the upper-crust spirit of the story with style and subtlety.
They’ve worked hard behind the scenes to perfect their period accents—and the result is both polished and pitch-perfect.

Mhorvan Sherret
Every role in The Grants of Glen Grant holds meaning—but for Mhorvan Sherret one role strikes especially close to the heart.
A native of Rothes, he made his stage debut in his hometown by portraying his own father—the real-life distillery manager at the time Glen Grant was sold in 1978.
It’s been an emotional and personal journey which has stirred memories, pride and deep reflection, stepping into his father’s shoes on the very soil where their story unfolded. To walk in his father’s footsteps, on a stage just minutes from where he lived and was brought up is something truly special.
He also plays the parts of Peter Grant, father of John and James and the irrepressible Bunny, suitor of Fanny, James’s wife!

Terry Henderson
Meet Terry Henderson – a proud Rothesian, local pantomime veteran, and voice of the community through his work as a presenter and trustee at Highland Hospital Radio. 
Now he’s back on stage in The Grants of Glen Grant, sharing the spotlight with his brother—the show’s musical director.
Terry plays three different parts in the show each bringing a little Speyside charm and a lot of local pride to the Fringe. 

Kathleen McGrath-Gunn MBE and Lachlan Hurford
Introducing Kathy McGrath-Gunn MBE, a remarkable member of our cast whose life story is as inspiring as the roles she plays.
Born and bred in Glenlivet—the heart of historic illicit whisky country—she brings both local roots and national recognition to the stage.
Awarded an MBE for her services to older people during the coronavirus pandemic, she is also an accomplished, award-winning ballroom dancer.
Now she brings her elegance, presence, and grace to The Grants of Glen Grant playing Elspeth, mother of John and James, and also the flirtatious Fanny.  It’s an honour to have her on board.
Also meet the young Major! 0or wee whisky apprentice is the youngest member of The Grants of Glen Grant cast—but don’t let his age fool you.
He plays the junior version of Major Grant with enthusiasm, curiosity, and arguably the best hair in the entire cast.
He’s not in this alone either—his mum is also part of the production, making it a proper family affair.
