Cop-turned-comedian Alfie returns with a brand-new show ahead of recording his award-winning BBC Radio 4 comedy It’s a Fair Cop. The audience are ‘sworn in’ as police officers before Alfie shares a brand-new real-life scenario from his own casebook.
As the story unfolds, he playfully challenges them with the real moral dilemmas that police officers on the street face every day and invites them to share what real-time decisions they would make. Often with unexpected and entertaining results!
Policing decisions are easy in hindsight, aren’t they? But officers often have to make snap decisions – based only on the information that they have in front of them. Experience the thrills, spills and laughter of making high-risk calls in the moment and find out what sort of cop you’d make.
Thought-provoking and fun with every show unique to the audience in the room. It’d be a crime to miss it!

ABOUT ALFIE
Alfie left school at the age of 16 with no qualifications except the reputation of ‘class clown’. He started his working life as an engineering apprentice in the Sheffield steelworks before swapping steel for copper and joining the police.
It wasn’t until Alfie was in his early forties that he was diagnosed with dyslexia and dyspraxia. He believes that being neurodiverse has made him think, learn and see the world differently – instinctively using humour to connect and diffuse during his police career. He took up stand-up comedy as a hobby and now a career.
Unless you been ‘nicked’ by him he’s probably best known for writing and presenting his own hit BBC Radio 4 comedy series ‘It’s a Fair Cop’. The show, about to record its 10th series, recently won gold in the Best Comedy category of the Radio Academy Awards (ARIAs 2026) – one of the top awards in audio entertainment.
Alfie offers an innovative and unprecedented insight to the world of modern policing, skilfully interwoven with comedy moments from his own twenty years on the beat – where dealing with everyday incidents has generated a host of hilarious stories that you ‘just couldn’t make up’.
He tours nationally and internationally with a solo stand-up show, which is different to the radio show but still often contains interactive elements and references to his best ever policing partner – his beloved German shepherd dog Zeus (good boy Zeus!)
