On their sixteenth birthday, every child enters The System.

Four teenagers wake in a room that feels strangely familiar. None of them remember how they got there. None of them recognise one another. Yet every object they touch awakens fragments of a childhood that seems just beyond their reach.

As forgotten memories come flooding back, The System presents each of them with a series of impossible choices. Not tests of intelligence or strength, but of identity. Every decision promises a future. Every future demands a sacrifice.

Blending movement, storytelling and striking theatrical imagery, this new play explores the invisible forces that shape us long before we realise they’re there. Through memories of friendship, first love, ambition and growing up, it asks a simple but unsettling question:

Are the lives we dream of truly our own… or have we been taught what to want?

Inspired by poems written by young people, this thought-provoking and visually imaginative production explores the tension between individuality and conformity, inviting audiences of all ages to reflect on the moments that quietly shape who we become.

Because sometimes the hardest test isn’t choosing between two futures.

It’s remembering who you were before anyone told you who to be.
