Gathering Stones is an intimate autobiographical performance exploring the stories that change our lives. Moving between memoir, ritual, and audience participation Gathering Stones explores how identity is shaped by formative stories that mark us and the meaning we attach to them.
At its heart is a question: what if the parts of ourselves we learned to distrust or dislike—our innocence, beauty, play, and longing—were never problems, but essential sources of our vitality and personhood asking to be reclaimed?
Through communal storytelling, music, and movement this show traces how these gifts become marked by shame, betrayal, envy, and accusation—revealing that inside every stone is a deeper story waiting to be known. Audience members are invited into reflection and participation as personal stories become a shared exploration of what it means to reconsider the parts of ourselves we have hid or misunderstood.
What if the stories we’ve spent our lives avoiding or detesting are not evidence of what’s wrong with us, but clues to what makes us most alive?
Gathering Stones will invite you to see your life anew.
